Top 10 Best Power Wheels For Kids

Kids outgrow their toys. Or do they? When does a child stop being a kid? What makes a child interested in toys even as they grow up?

As soon as a child learns how to move himself independently, the learning process becomes a series of steps that the kid masters. The process runs so fast that you cannot distinguish anymore when one action starts and when it ends. Before you know it, he doesn’t want to go biking, and his dirt bike is stuck in some obscure corner of the garage. Now he wants one thing: a car just like his daddy’s.

Benefits Derived by Your Kids From Driving Power Wheels

It is not just a matter of your toddler mimicking what his father does when he drives. You will be surprised at how fast your child will be able to maneuver his toy in all directions, control his speed and know when to stop and to move forward. He will also learn how to adjust within a given space putting into consideration that he has a vehicle he has to pass through with.

Because of these actions, your child will slowly gain confidence in himself, being able to do things like daddy. And as your child relaxes to his new found activity, your child will be able to do imaginative play, even pretending to be like dad doing the groceries and bringing the kids to school. You can just imagine the fun and excitement your child will experience with the different play possibilities that will be open to him. Along the way, he will be able to see the value of safety, learn to obey rules and authority and be responsible for his actions.

What is the best age for power wheels?

Choosing what power wheels will best suit your child will depend on several factors. These factors are the age and size of your child. Manufacturers design these toys for different age groups. Younger drivers can start as early as a year old. The kid on this bracket can drive around using smaller cars with simple controls. As the age group progresses, bigger models are available. These models come with more advanced controls. What is important is that the child can fit comfortably into the vehicle. This will determine what size and model will best suit your child.

Things to consider when choosing power wheels for certain age groups

When choosing power wheels for your child, it’s good to think about his/her age. You can compare this with the age guidelines provided by the manufacturer. These electric cars designed for kids are available virtually for all age ranges. There are models which are ideal for toddlers to teens. Scan through the various models and their special features. Do this until you find one that would suit your child’s comfort.
Several aspects of a child’s development are part of operating these cars. Some of these aspects are the cognitive ability and physical growth. To maximize the development, also consider the child’s physical attributes.

  • Choosing power wheels for 1 – 3 years old

It is natural for kids to develop hand-eye coordination and motor skills. These developments take place faster when they’re having fun. So now, it’s time to shift, to more advanced toys – electric cars. Because of the demand, there is a vast selection of models to choose from, depending upon style or size.
The car’s speed will be dependent on your child’s age. You can find this information in the guidelines of the manufacturer. You can now imagine your child zooming around at 6 MPH.
Just to make the conditions more realistic and fun, cars for this age group have amazing features. These features include radios, MP3 players, realistic motor sounds and foot pedal operation. How cool is that!
Although the features tend to get more sophisticated, it is best to use these cars indoors. Let your child drive them on the carpet or in house halls. They may go as far as outdoor pavements. But the larger cars for this age group are suitable for rougher surfaces like lawns, gravel, dirt and/or mud.

  • Choosing power wheels for 5 – 7 years old

The electric cars for this age group are more capable of higher speeds. The selection in style is also more varied. Styles for 3-wheeled motorcycles and also dune buggies are available.
The electric cars for this group are like miniature versions of the original car. They are more realistic looking to keep the kids excited about them. This certainly is every child’s dream. Just be sure he doesn’t get a ticket for being too luxurious!
Because the child’s moves from toy cars to power wheels, they may prefer the more advanced models. This especially applies to those kids at the higher end of the 5-7 age group. In such cases, you can research on faster and more advanced options offered by the next age group.

  • Choosing power wheels for 8 – 10 years old

You can excite older kids with electric cars more. That’s because it would be a confirmation of their independence and maturity. Usually, they prefer more power and speed.
Even in other transports, their interest would move on to dirt bikes and gas-vehicles. But allow them to transition first with electric cars. These cars are specific for this precarious age.
The child would be graduating from plastic toys to a cool and sporty machine. Very much available here are ATV’s or go-carts. These are almost like mini-cars, complete with frames made of aluminum and/or steel.
They even have multiple gear transmissions, disk braking systems, and active suspension systems. The power source now will be gasoline and they tend to increase as the vehicle becomes larger.
